About West Melbourne
West Melbourne is its own city, right next to Melbourne. Voters created it in 1959 to keep the area from being annexed by its bigger neighbor.
Since then it has become one of the fastest-growing cities in Brevard, with newer neighborhoods along I-95 and Erna Nixon Park's boardwalk through an old Florida hammock.
Homes and tile in West Melbourne
Most homes here are newer single-story houses on concrete slabs, many still with their original builder-grade floors. Upgrading to wood-look porcelain or large-format tile is a common first project.
